Archeological Museum of Paros

The Archeological museum of Paros is located in Parikia, the capital of Paros, around 15 minutes from Naoussa.

Significant findings of the Neolithic and early Christian eras, from excavations in Paros and Antiparos along with mosaics from the "100 gates" church are exhibited.

Among them, a marble statue of Gorgo (Medusa) the legendary mermaid that turned to stone anyone that dared to look at her, a marble statue of Goddess Artemis almost 3 meters tall found in Dilion temple and the marble statue of "Victory" found at the castle in Parikia.

The outdoor area of the museum is also used for exhibition of statues and sarcophaguses of the Classic and Roman era.

The museum is considered among the most important in Greece.
