The Byzantine Trail - Lefkes to Prodromos

A thousand years old marble paved trail connects two of the most beautiful villages of Paros, Lefkes and Prodromos.

Hiking time is a little bit over an hour considered of average difficulty and you walk through olive groves and vineyards, while the scents of thyme, sage and oregano accompany you.

Lefkes is the most mountainous village of Paros located right under a pine forest and it was the first capital of Paros. "Ramnos" is the picturesque main street with neoclassic buildings, little taverns and shops, amazing backstreets and yards and all the sea view you would wish, all the way to Naxos.

Around the amphitheatrically built village there are old windmills many of which are restored and you should pay a visit to the Holy Trinity Church with the exquisite belfries.

If you are visiting late August, you should not miss "Karavolas" fair where you will find local food, wine and dancing in abundance until the early morning hours.

Prodromos is located on a hill and already grabs your attention at the village's entrance which is an arch with a dome roof connecting two little churches and prohibits cars from entering the village.

Arched houses, yards full of flowers and smells along with cozy traditional "kafenia" serving mouth drooling homemade food is what you should expect in Prodromos.

From Prodromos you have easy access to four different beaches, namely "Molos", "Kalogeros", "Tsoukalia" and Drios.

Just follow the trail...
